Those people certainly have value, but the people who have the greatest influence on you, you see every day. The people who are closest to us.

Even back then, I couldn’t imagine anything better than owning a business. It seemed like the pinnacle of success. Being your own boss. Working hard and seeing that work rewarded. There was a level of respect, from both consumers and owners. Shopping was different because you felt you were helping a neighbor. You were supporting the community.

Every self-employed, small or home business owner knows that feeling.  It’s a shared experience with each other. It’s a feeling one we share with consumers. All of us are looking for the same thing.
